The General Chamber of Commerce of Thailand has collaborated with 28 state agencies and enterprises to set up a joint working group to discuss and determine measures to cope with low agricultural product prices and market glut. The Deputy Executive Director of the Thai Rural Cooperatives Association predicted that longan production in Thailand will exceed 1.4 million tons in fiscal year 2024. The solution to the problem of slow sales has become the most important issue. Based on the current data, it is expected that the total longan production in Thailand in 2024 will increase significantly compared to last year to 1.433 million tons, with 696,000 tons produced in the current season and 737,000 tons produced out of season. The current problem is how to solve the problem of longan sales this year. If there are a lot of unsold products, the price will decrease, affecting the income of fruit farmers and their enthusiasm for future production. Currently, the General Chamber of Commerce of Thailand has collaborated with 28 state agencies and enterprises to jointly solve the problem of reducing prices and selling agricultural products.
